Session 1. Introductions

Course Reflections

For the first session, we were tasked with talking about ourselves, our work, and practice, I always find it difficult to look inwardly and reflect on what I do. Hopefully this course and writing these blogs will help with this as I really believe that the process is very valuable.

It was interesting to see the diversity of roles and backgrounds the other students had, I feel that this is a good group with lots of different histories and perspectives. I’m sure that it will lead to interesting debates and discussions.

My main goal in doing this course is about analytical thinking and improve my academic practice. I come from an FE background and am a practical person. I moved into HE a few years ago and got quickly thrown into a Covid online teaching environment, helping people practically with their online delivery and technology. Now that we are moving out of this phase, I’m really keen to level up in my academic practice, so that I can fully support staff in the use of technology.

I’m really looking forward to the rest of the course, looking at how long we have for this unit, it’s really short and will be over before we know it!
